Interesting take about "The Other Side", because I never thought of it as a political song at all. I was under the impression it was written about her being single again. But now, yeah, it does sound political in nature. She's a Malibu beach bunny living in conservative Tennessee, and she did go back to eating meat after dating a cowboy...🤔
I do have a rule about not reviewing cover albums or greatest hits albums, though. There's so much new music and time is hard to come by. So if the self-covers are bonus tracks, it'll be fine, but I'll see what it looks like when it comes out or what they're billing it as in the lead-up.
Got it. If you'd like a preview, she's releasing a single each month before release. Since around March she's released duets of her 'Realize' and 'If You Love Me Let Me Go' on you tube. I don't know the full structure of the new record, but she said it will be a mix of her covers and new songs. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm biased - she's my favorite singer. and I listen to her every day - I'm actually listening to her as I write this 😁

I do like to think myself observant, so thank you for your comment.
Now to await the humbling that always follows....
Just FYI, Colbie's new album is due out in September. Supposed to feature several duets and country-fied versions of her hits. Would love a review!
Thanks for the tip! I'll keep an eye out for it.
