This is one I found on the Alt-Country subreddit, as I'm actively keeping an eye out for acts that can compete with Tyler Childers and Chris Stapleton. I believe Margo has that potential, but this album doesn't really fall into the alt-country vein so much as alt-folk or Americana. It sounds more like a blend of:
1 - the style of Americana/Country that last year's Larkin Poe album carried, bombastically, into the top 40; and
2 - the style of laid-back, groovy folk that results from blending Alison Krauss with Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant.
It's good stuff, especially the intro track, "Been To The Mountain", and "County Road". Would definitely recommend for lovers of Folk, Americana, or groove rock, as its stylistic composition encompasses each of those nicely. That said, the album, as a whole, did not blow my mind.
