Death Metal, even Melodic Death Metal, isn’t really my cup of tea. In Flames stays on my list because they have put out a few good tracks here and there. And this album has some tracks that are definitely good: “Bleeding Out”, “Pure Light of Mind”, and “Cynosure” are the three best tracks on this album. The band is competent and capable, but, in my opinion, hobbled by the heavy use of harsh vocals.
There are moments of brilliance, but they’re short-lived, and half the album got tossed in the trash heap on my second listen.
