Boy & Bear - "Boy & Bear"

This is the chill background rock you need when you need chill background rock

Boy & Bear is an Australian Indie Folk/Rock band, and, at least for this album, there are a lot of electronic elements and production elements that sound electronic. But for the most part, it’s sort of laid-back, vibey folk rock. The vocals are this chill baritone, and are often the dominant element, despite that they rarely show any increase in energy or, honestly, pitch. Reminds me a lot of Twelve Foot Ninja’s vocals in that sense.

Despite the lack of energy, the songs are good. Several are still upbeat, and most have really well-executed melodies and hooks. This album doesn’t blow me away, by any means, but I would happily use this for background music on a chill day at home.
